Recruiter Seeking:
National Sales Manager / East Coast Regional Manager
Specialty Imported Wine

(Includes Direct Sales Responsibility for the East Coast and the Management
of 3 Regional Sales Managers and one administrative employee)

Our client is an international producer of specialty wines with $25 million in worldwide sales. They are actively selling in the USA in a niche market with sales in 20+ countries worldwide.

Due to expansion, they are seeking an East Coast based National Sales Manager/ East Coast Regional Manager who will manage 3 regional sales managers and also have direct sales responsibility for the East Coast.

Responsibilities:
Personally handle all sales activities throughout the East Coast, with an emphasis in New York.

Conduct sales calls (together with distributor sales staff and independently) with supermarkets, liquor retailers, catalog houses, Internet marketers, niche distributors and others, leading to product acceptance.

Seek out opportunities in new market channels and regions

Manage, lead and motivate 3 regional sales managers (company employees) whose activities will be similar as described above for their specific regions. Manage and direct an administrative assistant located at the NY office.

Collect market and competitive intelligence information and update the General Manager and company headquarters on key developments.

Approximately 75% of the manager’s time will be spent on East Coast sales management and 25% on managing regional sales managers and administrative responsibilities. The manager should be in the field at least 75% of the time.
This position can be based from of a home office with periodic visits to company offices in NYC.

Requirements
1. A minimum of 5 years recent experience in a sales position with a manufacturer, distributor or rep agency/broker selling wine or spirits.

2. Wide range of active contacts throughout the East Coast with distributors and retailers selling related products.

3. Experience managing outside sales staff.

4. Background working in a multi-national company or environment would be helpful but is not required.

5. Willingness to travel in the US and internationally as needed.
